In the beginning:
From the out-set Learning Journey has been led with great passion
from us here at Pathways Educational Systems Ltd.
Learning Journey itself was born out of an identified need, whilst
our now director Ian, supported several primary schools within
his local education authority. Often, he was approached
for solutions to facilitate digital recording of the labour-intensive
task of children’s Learning Journey’s.
Having scoured the internet as well as speaking to specialists
within the education field, the schools Ian supported just didn’t
feel that those
available quite fitted what they were looking for. Several
had some, admittedly, good ideas whilst being fairly user friendly,
that said the nitty gritty functionality
simply seemed to be missing. Which was a frustration to the
IT Co-Ordinator’s and headteachers alike that Ian liaised
with.
Then the question was asked:
Any chance of you providing us with a solution that simply fits
the bill, and
works how we as practitioners would like it to?
From here on the rest is history as they say. Learning Journey
by
Pathways was born. Consultation with educational specialists
within their subject fields was an invaluable part of the development
of Learning Journey, and still is today. Forever improving
what is already a feature packed, easy to use application. Not
only used within education, however outside that. Stretching
far and wide, on a global scale.

Looking into the future:
Learning Journey has been developed from the off with an exciting
future
in mind. The development team here at Pathways Educational
Systems have worked hard to future proof ‘Learning Journey’ itself,
along with several integrating self-marking and exciting developments
in the pipeline. All making for a better quality of teaching and
learning for both students as well as practitioners alike. Reducing
workloads for staff, whilst at the same time enabling students
to engage, as well as learn without even realising it. Learning
should be fun, fulfilling and most
of all stimulating.
